To accompany a planning application of this size it will be necessary for Gladedale to produce an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The scope of the EIA is determined by a Scoping Report, which is submitted to the local authority. They will advise and ratify the scope and extent of the EIA or, recommend additional work.

The Scoping report has now been received and is being reviewed by Elmbridge Borough Council, who will advise Gladedale how to proceed.

The HCRC has read the Scoping Report and has reservations about its range and remit. There are important considerations that, given the sensitivity of the site, have not been fully explored. HCRC has responded to the report by means of a ‘Letter of Representation’. This has been sent to Elmbridge Council and outlines their profound concerns. See below

The full report and the associated ‘Letters of Representation’ are available in full at www.elmbridge.gov.uk e-planning reference 2007/1211.
